Handy Hints
Peoples Choice 10 Handy Hints We recommend that you always check the following when considering a show for your event: 1. Always Speak to the DJ in person. 2. Where possible, try to arrange a meeting with the DJ prior to the event. 3. Ask the DJ if they have Public Liability Insurance and have their equipment regularly PAT tested. 4. Always find out what sound and light show they offer. Ask to see pictures of previous events, as this will help you visualise the show. 5. Visit and browse their websites (if applicable) as this may give you a further impression. 6. Ask how long they have been working as a DJ if they can provide references or testimonials from previous events. 7. We always recommend designing a playlist to help your DJ understand your music requirements. Remember that playlists should include music for your guests and not just all your personal favourites. 8. Prices are individual for each show, and you will find prices vary allot. Do not base your decision totally on price – a DJ can make or break the evening. 9. Be wary of “Resident DJ’s “ in hotels and function halls. More than often you are paying over the odds simply to pay the hotel a commission for supplying the DJ. This can, in some cases mean that the hotel will shop around for the cheapest DJ to gain the maximum mark up. Also you will very rarely be able to have prior consultation with a resident DJ. Many hotels simply use agencies to book DJ’s rather than really having “their” own “recommended DJ. If you do choose the recommended DJ, then make sure you have contact details directly for them and call them! 10. If at all possible ask if you can visit a show that they are performing at. This is certainly the best way to get a feel of if this show is for you. |
